Since 1965 the Great Southern Region of Western Australia has been successful with growing cool climate wines.
Denmark, within the Great Southern Region, is a wine region of importance with over 25 wineries producing award winning wines of distinction and diversity.
Denmark is 400km south of Perth, it is beautifully set in tree covered hillsides along the Denmark River and Wilson Inlet, at the edge of the Southern Ocean by the towering old wood forests, next to the ancient rocks, it is a wonderful place to visit, enjoy the laid back local lifestyle and indulge in some delicious wine. |

Riesling and Chardonnay were the first grapes grown on Denmark soil, soon followed by other varieties. We have included a general outline of the wine varieties grown in the Denmark Region.
Denmark's wineries are as diverse as the natural surroundings, unique, pleasing and refreshing. There is also a wonderful range of accommodation you'll be sure to find somewhere that to relax and enjoy your stay in the Denmark Wine Region.
